Ireland:

Norway - The Perfect Place for Adventurers:

Ah... Norway. For all you adrenaline junkies out there... this could be the perfect place for you. Hiking, skiing, fishing cabins, waterfalls…even polar bears! Experience it all in Norway. Enjoy walking around the coastal towns and having a plate of fish and chips to warm your tummy. Later, head into the mountains to see the Northern Lights dance across the sky.

Have you ever eaten dim sum? Well, you will definitely want to try Sum when you go there. If you’re looking to get away from the hum drum of the city, there are also beautiful mountains and scenic places to visit. Hong Kong is definitely a must visit!

Verkhoyansk, Russia:

Verkhoyansk, Russia, deep in the Siberian desert, has 13,11 residents according to the 2010 census. Founded as a fortress in 1638, this city became a regional centre for cattle ranching and tin and gold mining. A city 1,500 miles south of the North Pole, Verkhoyansk was home to political exiles between the 1860s and early 1900s. Verkhoyansk's coldest month, January, the average temperature minus 44 degrees, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration .Average monthly temperatures remain below freezing from October to April. While the official all-time low is minus 90, recorded in February 1892, residents reported even colder temperatures that same month, down to minus 93.6. Verkhoyansk's extremely cold winters are compensated for by scorching summers. NOAA reported that in June 2020 Verkhoyansk recorded the highest temperature ever recorded north of the Arctic Circle: 100.4 degrees.

Utqiagvik, Alaska:

Utqiaġvik, known as Barrow before 2016, is the northernmost city in the United States, located 2,000 kilometres south of the North Pole and 520 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. The city of 4,467 inhabitants is built on permafrost up to 400 meters deep in places. The sun sets at the end of November and doesn't reappear until the end of January. Only in June does the average temperature go above freezing and even then it remains cool: the average temperature in June is only 36 Degrees. Utqiaġvik is the economic centre of Alaska's North Slope, and many of its residents work in the energy sector. The city is only accessible by air or sea.

International Falls, Minnesota:

Although International Falls, Minnesota is half as cold as Oymyakon or Verkhoyansk, it is one of the coldest cities in the contiguous United States. It's right on the Canadian border on the banks of the Rainy River. Winters in International Falls are long and freezing, with average January lows of minus 7. According to US climate data, more than 60 nights a year reach zero degrees, and the region averages about 71 inches of annual snowfall. International Falls, home to about 5,811 people, has long fought an extreme cold war with Fraser, Colorado, and Big Piney, Wyoming for the Icebox of the Nation trademark title.

Fraser, Colorado:

Ser is located at 2,574 m in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and has a population of approximately 1,400. Nestled in a beautiful alpine valley, this town of Middle Park is close to the popular ski resort of Winter Park and experiences one of the coldest winters in the country. The average annual temperature is only 32.5 degrees. In June, the average low is 29.4. Compared to International Falls, its main competitor Icebox of the Nation, Fraser has a slightly warmer winter, but the year-round average is lower. The two towns reached an agreement in 1986 after International Falls paid Fraser $2,000 to drop its formal claim. Then, a decade later, another lawsuit ensued when International Falls failed to renew its federal trademark. The fight for this coveted title ended with a decision by the United States. International Falls has been granted a patent by the patient and trade mark office.
